Depression Therapy

Anxiety can make it challenging for us to express ourselves clearly or make it difficult to listen to and understand other people. Anxiety can lead to trust issues, leading to doubt and suspicion of partners, friends, or family members.

High Functioning Anxiety can appear as 'success and control', which can cause internal intense worry, stress, and obsessive thinking. Other signs include: perfectionism, fear of looking adequate or skilled, self-doubt, avoidance with physical symptoms like sweating, trembling, fatigue, muscle tension, or sleep disturbances.

In adults, the symptoms of depression can be complex and vary widely between people. When depressed, you may feel sad, hopeless and be experiencing lost interest in things you used to enjoy. Symptoms may persist for weeks or months and are bad enough to interfere with your work, social life and family life. Some signs include: feeling hopeless, having low self-esteem, feeling guilt-ridden with tearfulness. Sometimes people feel anxious or worred as well. Severe symptoms which require immediate attention are suicidal thoughts and thoughts of harming yourself.

Addiction Counseling

Trauma, in its simplest form, is a distressing event or series of events that have lasting negative effects on a person's emotional, psychological, and physical well-being. It can result from a wide range of experiences, including accidents, natural disasters, violence, abuse, and even witnessing traumatic events. Trauma can disrupt a person's sense of safety, security, and their ability to navigate everyday life. While not everyone who experiences a traumatic event will develop PTSD, some may develop this condition, which involves persistent symptoms like nightmares, flashbacks, and heightened anxiety.

In-Person Appointments

In-person therapy involves face-to-face sessions conducted in a shared physical space, which can foster a stronger interpersonal connection between therapist and client. Being physically present allows both parties to engage more fully with each other, benefiting from subtle but important nonverbal cues such as body language, facial expressions, and eye contact. These elements often play a critical role in building trust and deepening the therapeutic relationship.

Life Transitions

Professional Burnout

Professional Burnout

Life transitions often require people to adapt to new roles, expectations, and environments. While they can lead to personal growth and new opportunities, they can also bring uncertainty, stress, or grief. Therapy or support systems can be helpful during transitions, as people process changes and make meaning of their evolving lives.

It typically results from being overworked, undervalued, or emotionally drained, and it can significantly impact job performance, relationships, and overall well-being.
