BRENE BROWN
Hello ~
My name is Julie Frank. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Addiction Counselor living in Durango, CO. I work with adults of all generations and older teens. Since 2010, I have worked as a counselor and social worker in many different capacities, providing direct client care, supervision, and training for new therapists, as well as developing therapy programs for community-based healthcare in Southwest Colorado.
I was born and raised near Buffalo, NY with a brief time in Billings, MT when I was a toddler. After visiting Colorado for the first time as an adult in 1991, I moved to Durango and have been here ever since. When I see the Rocky Mountains I pinch myself that I get to live in Colorado!
My partner and I are kept busy with our parrots, chickens and homestead upkeep. I enjoy walking in the woods near my home, gardening, spending time with family and friends, learning to paddleboard, traveling to other countries, spending time alone, knitting, making culinary delights, and watching movies.
I am happily on my 4th career as a therapist in private practice. I have successfully transitioned from the different work I've had in the horse world, engineering and community healthcare. In some cases, I was making change with full agency. At other times, I was responding to change I had no control over.
With 15 years of professional experience as a social worker, I have developed many strengths to support others in their life transitions and recovery. Some of these areas:
I believe supportive empathy and working together are two of the most important facets of therapy. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you ~
Kindly,
Julie
